Okay. Deep breath. The thing we've been teasing with the little 👀 for weeks is finally REAL, and I need to tell you everything. On Wednesday, August 12 at 7:00 PM EST, two new pieces drop: the One & Done Dress — an athletic dress with a built-in bra, detached pocket shorts, and zero ride-up — and Long Story Short(s), the standalone biker short you're going to live in.
This is the drop I've wanted to make since day one, and I built both of them to fix the exact things that have ruined my race photos, my park days, and my patience. Let's get into it. 💜
Quick note before the hype train fully leaves the station: the site closes at 6:30 PM EST so we can prep for the drop, and reopens right at 7:00 PM. If you're on the email list, you get the link FIRST.
The three problems these actually solve
I don't make pieces because a trend told me to. I make them because something made me insane on a run. Here are the three specific betrayals the One & Done Dress and Long Story Short exist to end.
1. Athletic dresses give your chest NOTHING. This is the big one. Most "athletic" dresses have a flimsy shelf bra. So you either bounce the entire 10K, or you wear a real sports bra UNDER the dress, sweat through two layers, and defeat the entire point of an airy dress. That's not a dress. That's a costume with a cardio penalty.
Here's why it matters, with receipts: the female breast can move up to 21 cm during exercise — half of that straight up and down — and about 72% of active women report breast discomfort during exercise. Support isn't a "nice to have." It's the whole ballgame. So the One & Done has a REAL built-in bra.
2. The sewn-in-shorts bathroom nightmare. Most athletic-dress shorts are stitched right into the skirt. Which means the second you need a mid-run porta-potty or a park-day bathroom, you're basically getting undressed from the neck down. Ours aren't attached. Say it louder for the girls in the back: THE SHORTS COME OFF SEPARATELY.
3. No pockets, so you're stuck strapping on a belt. You know the drill. Cute dress, nowhere for your phone, so you clip on a running belt and ruin the outfit - or you carry your phone in your hand for 6 miles like it's 2009. Both of these pieces carry EMIÉ's signature pocket story: real pockets, so you leave the belt at home.
🩱 The One & Done Dress: no bra to add, no shorts to fuss with
The name is the whole promise. One and done - nothing to layer, nothing to add, nothing to fight with. You put it on, and you are DRESSED.
Here's what's actually built into it:
A real built-in bra - with a back that earns its keep. Supportive built-in bra, adjustable cross-back straps, and an open cutout back so it's actually cute (and cooler on a hot day). This is the same "hold the girls in place and forget about them" energy as our Forget About It Bra - now built right into the dress. No second sports bra required. No under-layer sweat swamp.
Detached biker shorts that do real work. Under the skirt: unattached bike shorts with side pockets deep enough for fuel and gels and a silicone grip hem so they never ride up - the same grip-dot engineering from our Problem Solved Shorts. The skirt gives you coverage; the short does the job. And because it's detached, that bathroom break is a two-second move, not a whole production.
Hidden dress pockets that fit a FULL phone. Not a decorative slit. Not a "maybe an AirPod case" pocket. Hidden side pockets in the skirt, deep enough for your actual phone.
Analyst corner (the specs you want): built-in support bra · adjustable cross-back
· open/cutout back
· detached high-waisted bike short with side pockets + silicone grip hem
· phone-deep hidden skirt pockets
· sizes XS–XXL
· shown in a Lilac Geo print.
Where you'll wear it: lead's obvious - it's a RUN dress. Halves, long runs, RunDisney, the whole thing. But here's the bonus that'll make it your most-worn piece: it's just as at home on a tennis or pickleball court, a brutal Disney park day, or a travel outfit where you want to look human at hour nine. Sport-to-street versatility is exactly why athletic dresses blew up in 2026 - one piece, zero outfit math.
🩳 Long Story Short(s): run, errands, under the dress - long story short, you'll live in them
Meet the piece I secretly think is the sleeper hit. Long Story Short is a standalone biker short - and yes, the name is the tagline: run in them, errand in them, layer them under the One & Done Dress… long story short, you'll never take them off.
Why they're about to be your everyday default:
- No ride-up. High-waisted, stays put, squat-tested
- Buttery soft and wear-anywhere - run, gym, errands, or layered under the dress.
- Sizes XS–XXL. Colorways: Lilac Geo + Key Lime
Visionary bit: the real win here isn't a short. It's deleting the 6 AM decision. The pair you grab without thinking, that works for the run AND the Target run, is worth ten cute-but-useless pairs shoved in a drawer.
How to actually shop the drop (Planner mode, save this)
This one moves fast, so here's your game plan:
- Get on the list TODAY. Email + SMS subscribers get the drop link at 7:00 PM EST before it hits social. This is the difference between "added to cart" and "sold out, sad."
- Note the window. Site closes 6:30 PM EST to stage, reopens 7:00 PM EST. Don't panic when it goes quiet at 6:30 - that's the calm before.
- Know your pick before 7:00. Decide now: dress (biker shorts included), biker shorts, or all of it. Sizes XS–XXL. When it's live, you want to check out, not deliberate.
- Watch for the keyword. On the launch reel, drop the comment keyword and we'll DM you the link straight to the drop.
- Size tip: these run true to our usual fit. If you're between sizes and want the compression-y hold, size down; if you want extra room in the skirt, stay put.
Why I actually designed these
I resisted the athletic dress for an embarrassingly long time- it felt like a lot, and every one I tried either bounced, rode up, or had "pockets" that ejected my phone at mile two. So I did what I always do: I got annoyed enough to design my own version. A dress that holds the girls in place WITHOUT a second bra. Shorts that come off for the bathroom. Pockets that fit a real phone. And then, because I couldn't stop wearing the under-shorts by itself, Long Story Short became its own thing.
That's the whole EMIÉ story in one drop: average runner, real body, real race-day problems, gear that finally acts right. Every pace — and every park day, and every errand — is welcome here. 💜
See you Wednesday at 7. Get on the list, know your size, and let's go.
